REACHING OUT TO NEW AUDIENCES

As an NPS Member – with a background in advertising – I was closely involved in the Club’s exhibition stand at the 2011 Ideal Home Show at Christmas, which took place at Earls Court.

The principal aim was to promote stamps and stamp collecting to new audiences. I wrote all the promotional material for the stand, helped to recruit sponsors and, along with Stanley Gibbons, created a 16 page introduction to the hobby.

This two-sided flyer is shown actual size. The QR Code links to the NPS website and the brochure.


The backdrop to the stand aims to cover as many aspects of philately as possible: it includes a competition to ‘Spot the Error’.

This initiative had only a limited success – but it did teach some very valuable lessons (click the copy of Stamp Lover to read the piece). And I am always interested in talking to individuals or organisations to help recruit the next generation of stamp collectors.
